Easy to install.
Fired it up with relative ease and played with the gain and other settings until it sounded as right as I was going to get it - headunit does the crossover duties so very little else needed playing with. Initial impressions without too much volume weren't bad - the weedy nasty stereo that comes as standard in a Vivaro was proper lacking in anything of merit. The huge improvement with 4 uprated drivers sat in the spaces and a decent Sony DAB HU were promising. Sadly higher volumes on the first drive drew its weaknesses straight out.
I'm used to very good sounding stereos in my home having owned a Naim/B&W outfit before that wowed my ears and currently owning a BK XLS300 Home Cinema sub that really defines clean deep bass. The couple of JL subs I've had in previous car stereos were pretty good too. This thing goes loud to be sure but has little depth and horrible boomy distorted bass that literally hurts my ears even at moderate listening levels. Think I'm just going to chuck a conventional sub in the load space fixed with straps and let it fire through a hole in the bulkhead.
Note that on the HC market BK can make a compact sub with a quality cabinet, driver and amplifier for £200. This ran out at £160 delivered and is a huge disappointment.
